If you live in the northern hemisphere, spring is just around the corner. Why not plan a garden railway this year?
It doesn’t have to be big – Garden Railways magazine live steam columnist Jeff Young has a very modest dual-gauge line where he runs a wide variety of equipment, most of it live steam.
Jeff’s layout is an oval with a double ended siding and a spur – all one needs, really, to provide a place to bring one locomotive up to working pressure while enjoying another pulling a suitable train.
Jeff is Jim’s guest on the February 15th episode of The Model Railway Show. We’ll post that show in the next day or two. In the meantime, we’ve loaded a few photos of Jeff’s layout to our Flickr gallery – a teaser for Show #8, and for the steaming season to come.
