(CNR RS18 3640 at the St. Williams station)
There’s no real reason to share this photo, other than I like the colours: The white house and RoW fence… green and yellow locomotive… red station… and blue truck. They combine to really catch the eye. Those LED headlights sure help, too.
(Hmm: I just noticed I need to paint the stove pipe casting on the station. It’s been raw white metal since the station was built. I’ll add that to the to-do list…)
Trevor,
That’s two posts in a row that the photo provided you with a reminder. I find it fascinating that it is the photos that add substantially to our to-do lists just when we think we might be done.

Nah…it’s a brand spanking new Stove Pipe, you just need a couple of guys with a truck (generally a panel truck), a ladder, some tin snips and a few scraps of sheet metal. After all the weather is to nice for the station master to have lit the stove yet.
If it was that new, it would be bluish black, not white
depends if the stack has a) a liner b) if the exterior used galvanized piping, but yeah likely blued metal. just trying to give the guy a break.
UPDATE: I’ve finally painted the damned thing. It took 15 seconds to paint, plus another 15 to wash the brush. And it took almost a month since the original post to get around to doing it. Sheesh…
