There. Are. THREE. Lights!

Workshop with three lights

Over the weekend, I was working on a project in my shop that requires photography. I realized I only owned two arms for my LED photo lights, so I swung past the camera store and picked up a third. As the photo above shows, I get plenty of light on the work surface – not only for photography, but also for seeing what the heck I’m doing.

The lighting rig I built in the shop have worked out really well – although things get pretty crowded looking when I have all the lights mounted:

I make no apologies for the messy work surfaces. Everybody works in their own way – this is mine. I can live with it.

  1. I would love to have that much space to spread out and make that kind of a mess!!! My workspace feels like I’m constantly juggling items and tubs and parts to move things in and out of the workspace to somewhere else when I’m working on projects!!

  2. I like the amount/ intensity of light you get at your work table. Along with the innovative way you mount them. I think you have it well covered for photography as well as “seeing” what your doing. No apologies needed, its your shop and if it works for you all the better. You have a great shop with so much room. I and I’m sure others would love to have a shop like yours. You know Trevor you can’t use the excuse you don’t have any room to work now, enjoy.

  3. I find it interesting how much model builder’s work places look the same. Even if you look at old magazines, we seem to do everything in roughly the same space, with the same tools in the same position.
    Cheers, Gord
