It’s been more than a month since I’ve posted any photos of my in-progress model of the Niagara St. Catharines & Toronto Railway car barn that once occupied a city block on Welland Avenue in St. Catharines. But I have been busy.
As the lead photo shows, I’m almost finished with the walls. I’ve scratch-built several sets of doors and everything has been painted and weathered. I have a couple of touch-ups to do, and then I can start glazing the windows. Still to come: a floor, a roof, a bunch of skylights, and overhead wires inside the structure. Meantime, I’ve painted all the rails so my track is now ready for ballast.
Now that the car barn is well underway, that mocked-up sand house is starting to bug me. I think it’s time to start building that, too…
