I first learned about the Niagara St. Catharines & Toronto Railway in the 1980s – in part, thanks to a number of books published about the line. So I was thrilled when, earlier this year, Peter Bowen – who helped create two of those books – got in touch. Peter now lives in the UK and edits Roundhouse – the magazine of the NMRA British Region. He asked if I would share the story of my NS&T project with readers.
Of course I said yes. What a great opportunity to thank someone who had such an important influence on my hobby – even though he didn’t know it at the time!
I sent in my feature, reviewed the proof, then got onto other things and – I must admit – forgot I’d done this. So it was a delightful surprise to find a copy of the July/August 2023 Roundhouse in my mailbox today, with my feature on page 12. Thank you again, Peter!
