Proto:48 roller gauges

Roller gauges are an useful tool for ensuring rails are in gauge as they’re spiked to the ties.

My friend Mark, who is also a Proto:48 enthusiast, offered to machine up some roller gauges to help me lay track on my Southern Pacific layout. How could I say no?

He obviously didn’t waste time because they arrived shortly thereafter. I’ve already been putting them to good use.

Mark is building a live steam locomotive and documenting it on his Machina Ex Marcus channel on Twitch. If you’re interested in machining or in live steam, head on over, have a look, and hit the follow or subscribe button.

You can even watch the video of Mark making the gauges.

Thanks, Mark – they’re perfect!
