GWR holiday special

Monday was a holiday in many parts of Canada – including where I live – so I ran a four-coach holiday special behind GWR Dean Single 3011, Greyhound.

I haven’t run this locomotive in a while so I needed to clean its wheels and lubricate the working inside motion (which can’t be seen when the locomotive is on the track, but it’s there because – well – that’s the hobby for ya). I can overlook its quirks because it’s a handsome beast:

Once that was looked after, it did an admirable job in charge of its train of holiday-makers to and from Bydemill – and it provided plenty of excitement for the local foamers, who don’t normally see such high-stepping power on this branch line:

After running around its train, Greyhound received its starter signal and prepared to head back to Swindon.
