Big blow

While scrolling through eBay, I stumbled across this and thought, “Well, why not?”

A vintage Great Western Railway guard’s whistle. It’s in excellent shape – and loud!

In the end, I was the only bidder. It arrived just in time to whistle in the New Year.

I don’t like the pressure of resolutions but over the next few months I hope to make significant progress on Bydemill, my prototype-inspired but still fictional, Edwardian era Great Western Railway branch line terminal in 7mm scale.

And once the long, dark Prairie winter is behind me, I hope to cut more materials for benchwork so I can expand my S scale version of the Niagara St. Catharines & Toronto Railway.

I hope 2025 is good to all of you, and that it includes many opportunities to make progress on your hobby – however you define it.
